Manisha Narula

Director of Community, League of Innovators

Social innovation and community engagement have always been a driving force for Manisha, particularly in education and youth empowerment. As the current Director of Community at League of Innovators, Manisha is working on mobilizing the next generation of innovators and changemakers and developing a culture of youth entrepreneurship across Canada. Prior to League of Innovators, Manisha co-founded a non-profit to help youth build soft skills and is currently also a Global Shaper under the World Economic Forum.

Katie McKenzie

Katie McKenzie

Master Trainer at Lagree West, Creator of The Block

Katie is fiercely passionate about how connecting to one’s body through movement allows for strength of not only body but mind and soul. Through her background in meditation, pilates and other movement modalities she works to create a feeling of calm connection and fire all at once. Katie has studied extensively how the body can and should move when aligned and works to encourage the room to do just that. Katie teaches in order to feel alive. Seeing that look in someone’s eyes when they get it, when they find themselves, when they connect is what lights Katie up, it’s what sets her soul on fire.

Jennifer Hollinshead

Jennifer Hollinshead MA, RCC, CCC

Founder and Clinical Director at Peak Resilience

After 10 years as a counsellor in various organizations, Jennifer created Peak Resilience to provide the best quality, easy to navigate psychotherapy services for clients motivated to live their best lives. With no prior business experience, Jennifer has built a thriving intersectional feminist therapy community that empowers counsellors and clients.

Jennifer brings over twenty years of combined counselling experience and education. She likes to uncover how clients have changed and been resilient in the past, and what motivates them to be resilient and inspired in the present. Jennifer also practices from an intersectional feminist approach, meaning she is curious about how living in a patriarchal, capitalist and colonialist society can impact mental health.

Join Jennifer for her session on Friday afternoon where we will explore the topic of body image - why we struggle with it, how it holds us back, and what we can do about it. We’ll end the workshop with some concrete tools on how to love your entire self- not just your body.

Co-Founder and CEO at QUP

Annee Ngo is the co-founder and CEO at QUP an education company with a mission to empower innovation through economic opportunity and access to education. QUP is a fundraising game for students to learn problem solving and compete for cash. She’s the recipient of BC Business’ 30 Under 30 and Women Tech Founders’ Women in Gaming award. She is also a 3x Founder (1x Exit) dedicated to creating economic access for students.

QUP is inspired by the Stanford d.school of design thinking, which teaches students to become innovative and creative thinkers. By asking students to think about who would care about a problem and why, QUP encourages students to put their empathy, curiosity, and problem-solving skills in play. By allowing them to see and vote on the best responses their peers provide, students also learn to see problems from other people’s perspectives.

Holistic Nutritionist and Founder of Bite Wellness

Andrea is a Holistic Nutritionist and founder of Bite Wellness Consulting. As a practitioner, Andrea supports her clients in a one-to-one format to support them in their wellness journey.  At the center of her practice, she strives to help people to become empowered eaters.  Through education, simple tools, and most importantly fun, Andrea helps her clients reconnect and build trust with their bodies, so that they can nourish themselves for the long-run.  

Girls will leave the session with delicious energy balls, a better understanding of nutrition and it’s role in their path to success, and a mini recipe book full of nourishing recipes to try at home.

Join Andrea for her session on Saturday afternoon where she will cover topics such as why nutrition is important, honouring the uniqueness of our body, and how to connect with food in your own home with a focus on empowering young girls to use nutrition to help them reach their goals.

Paige, a 23 year old, Indo-Canadian Entrepreneur. The Founder and COO of multiple e-commerce brands and subscription box ranging from trend-setting jewelry to high-street sunglasses and luxury dog accessories. As a full-time student at SFU, 19-year-old Paige started hand-making necklaces in her parents basement. She juggled her hobby while volunteering, interning at a design studio and working part-time. Fast forward to 2019, her hobby turned business, Pulse Media now boasts a full-service agency and a catalogue of brands where she leverages her strategies to help businesses grow their online presence.

Madison Guy

Madison Guy

Founder of GrantMe

Madison is a recent UBC business graduate who is passionate about entrepreneurship and technology and how both can be used in tandem to disrupt traditional industries. 

After winning over $50,000 in scholarships and awards during her time at UBC, Madison founded GrantMe, a platform that matches high school students to scholarships and supports students with the application process. 

Since its inception in 2017, GrantMe has grown to a team of ten and has been named a national semi-finalist for SheEO and was accepted into League of Innovator’s accelerator program. Most importantly, GrantMe has successfully helped high school students win over $1,400,000 in scholarships and supports students across Canada in accessing post-secondary education.

Taylor is a small town girl with big heart dreams and all about that multipotentialite life. She’s a self-described nature-loving-introvert, has an insatiable curiosity and a love of all things comfy. She’s a six-figure entrepreneur and serves the Lower Mainland as an RMT, Educator, Speaker, Mentor and with her current reign as Mrs British Columbia and Miss Congeniality 2018-2019. She’s also a Co-Founder of The Relationship Project with her kick-butt husband and a proud facilitator with Free to Be Talks. On most days you can find her juggling 5 different things, snuggling her rescue pup, or trying her darndest to go to bed early!

Dina Lu

Dina Lu

Holistic Nutritionist and Founder of Bite Wellness

Dina is a local calligrapher and workshop instructor. She teaches public and corporate lettering workshops in Vancouver, does on-site calligraphy at events, and loves doing special commissioned projects such as cards. A big part of her creative work is dedicated to raising mental health awareness. This was inspired by her experience helping her mom through depression and psychosis. 

Dina is also passionate about youth empowerment in entrepreneurship. She volunteers for League of Innovators, a Canadian charity that promotes entrepreneurship in youth under 25, and mentors high school students interested in startups/international business at the YWCA. Before calligraphy, Dina worked in International Trade with the Canadian + UK Government.

Join Dina for her session on Sunday afternoon where you will learn the basics of brush lettering calligraphy for stress relief. You will be able to create your own homemade cards and gifts while transforming your stress into something beautiful. Dina is also on the Women in Business Panel - join her and the other speakers to learn how she got a government job in international trade, how she switched from the coveted gov. career to starting her own studio and all the lessons she's learned along the way!
